A little about me . . .
Chapter One of my career occurred at FSG Books for Young Readers, a division of Macmillan Publishers, where I worked alongside talented creatives and colleagues to publish a wide range of award-winning books. I edited art and text for maximum impact, gave (and took) meaningful feedback, and flexed my organizational efficiency while balancing administrative and creative tasks; I also learned a ton about business writing, information synthesis, and time management through a slew of freelance jobs.
Chapter Two brought me to edtech platform Epic for Kids, where I developed, edited, and managed content for some of our most successful comics franchises. I spearheaded teams of creatives in writers’ rooms, collaborated cross-functionally with design and production teams, and wrote and edited copy for various departments.
Now in Chapter Three, I’m a senior editor at Simon Spotlight, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, focusing on brand and IP development for middle-grade readers—ideating series and titles, collaborating with various teams on licensing and original projects, and staying on top of trend analysis for the best sense of what kids and parents want to read!
Outside of the (virtual) office, I’m a Boston College graduate, a pop culture aficionado, an Alzheimer’s Association volunteer, and a year-round ice coffee drinker who loves Mike Schur sitcoms, the gym, and pretty much every dog.
[Oh, and I recently got married! I’m gradually transitioning from my maiden name (Warten) to my new last name (Vogan). Apologies for any inconsistencies, and in the meantime, I respond to both! Pronouns: she/her/hers]
